Information technology and the empowerment of social workers in government hospitals in Cairo Governorate

Abstract
The study aims to determine the impact of information technology as an element of social planning used on the dimensions of the empowerment of social workers in government hospitals in Cairo and Identifying obstacles to the use of information technology to enable social workers in government hospitals. The population consisted of 138 social workers in government hospitals working in 54 hospitals in Cairo governorate in the period from 28/12/2017 to 15/2/2018. The study found that there is a significant impact of information technology on all dimensions of empowerment; It also is shown that the application of information technology by social workers is weak and illustrated that the information systems have insufficient training, study suggests that the professional training units must regard to IT & communication skills in all training plans.
