Abstract
Abstract: The study examines the social worker's intervention in the aging elderly population, focusing on their social and emotional well-being. The research used both quantitative and qualitative methods, including surveys and interviews, at the Miguel Leon Old Age Home in Cuenca, Ecuador. Results show that most older adults live with their relatives, with a small percentage living alone. Social workers focus on optimizing the elderly's quality of life through activities promoting their social and emotional well-being, using professional tools like the Barthel Index, Lawton and Brody scales, and Mini-Mental Test.
