Abstract
The current research aimed to test the effectiveness of practicing a program based on the acceptance and commitment model in alleviating the severity of the problem of alienation among blind elderly women. It relied on the experimental approach by applying it to two groups, one a control group and the other an experimental group of blind elderly women residing at the Alamal House for the Care of Blind Elderly Women in Nasr City, Cairo. The strength of each group was ( 30) Single, by applying a measure of their feelings of alienation, and the results of the research concluded that practicing the therapeutic program had a positive impact on members of the experimental group of blind elderly women, and contributed to alleviating the feeling of alienation, and this is due to following the techniques of the therapeutic program with acceptance and commitment, including: Training on self-transcendence, and the method of controlling feelings of pain and sadness, where the sample members felt comfort and tranquility and the extent of positive interaction with them and understanding the meaning of life through dialogue and discussion sessions.
